My loving Father in Heaven. How I praise You for Your goodness, mercy, and grace towards me. Thank you for the day of rest and the gift to lead worship with my family. Our worship knew no bounds because we respond to Your love which is without bounds. I want to reflect all that You are in my family, my friends, my community, and my church. You have richly blessed me. I seek You for revelation regarding Romans 11:29. I desire to use the gifts You have given to the full as You direct. All to Your glory. May these times continue to build testimony to Your power and majesty, grace and mercy, and unconditional love in my life. I humble my heart before You as You are a Holy God. Forgive me for my trespasses and forgive those who trespass against me. Please make any crooked places straight. I submit to you anything in my life, past and present, that the enemy intended for evil. Please turn it around for my good and to Your glory. I submit all that I am to my loving Father and King. You have all of me. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
Praise the Lord my friends. I write this after needing a day of rest with my King. I am refreshed. Today I am inspired by Romans 11:29 that states, "For the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable." (NKJV)
As I consider this short scripture, I am struck by the truth that God gives His children a blessing of a gift or gifts that are wholly yours along with a calling that He has designed specifically for you. Do you know what your gifts are? What about your calling? Have you been submitting both to the Lord for direction in building up those around you in your family, community, or church?
The scripture is clear. These gifts and callings of God are IRREVOCABLE. I personally have known about some extra gifts given, but I have not acted on them until now. One of those has to do with what I am doing right now... writing. Some would call me a sinner. They would be right. I am. Saved by grace and grace alone. I praise my God and my Savior for His patience with me. I am finally sitting long enough, as a Mary, listening to that still quiet voice and stepping into what I was created to do. Joy fills my heart to see lives transformed as hope and faith in Jesus is restored and built. I ask for God to redeem the years I missed and hope to encourage others through my transparency. For there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. This is why I ask the Lord to forgive me every day. He is faithful.
Remember that He loves you. He is the One who holds your future. Trust Him. Ask Him about your gifts and calling if you are unsure. Everyone has one, whether in ministry, at home, or at work. Also, do not be concerned about not knowing how to use the gift. I recently was called back into worship ministry in a new way after a season of serving in children's ministry. Before that, I was supporting my husband with worship and singing at other places. I stepped into this new calling with boldness, but also in humility. The prayer that I say before every time I led worship was ... 'Please sing through me Lord and touch their hearts. May Your Holy Spirit come. I welcome You, Holy Spirit. I need You, Holy Spirit. I can't do this without You. This is ALL for You. All the glory and praise belong to You. In Jesus Name. Amen.'
What is our call to action? Worship Him with the gifts that He is given in humility with gratefulness as He makes your joy complete. Find your calling if you do not know what it is. Worship Him through the calling for He is worthy of your praise. Surrender to His direction and care. Watch the calling of God to expand and be ready to be equipped properly by those selected by God to walk alongside and teach in Holy reverence.
May God bless you as you go deeper in this area. He is waiting for you to ask. Allow Him to shape and mold you. Be bold as Acts 4:31 reminds us that the filling of the Holy Spirit brought boldness in speaking the Word of God. Stay humble. It is important to revere our Lord for He is Holy. Remember that you are incredibly special to Him and needed to operate in your calling in the body of Christ. I am praying for all of you today.
