Community-based worship news

January 13, 2025

Hi all!  Joyful Noise Ministry has been busy since October. The website has been updated to show all that God sent us to participate and do in November and December. A new Services page has been created to reflect the expanded ministry focus.

Now for the News:

In November, 2024 -

--> Great breakthrough in Arkansas at the Standing in the Gap prayer ministry in Fairfield Bay, AR on November 2, 2024.

We soaked in His presence and prayed corporately for the city, the region, the nation, and also for healing in people and situations. We are expecting and praising God for all of the fallow ground broken up and the seeds that were planted to yield a great harvest.

Ezekiel 34:22-23 and Isaiah 35 was given to us for that time together.

--> Final Joyful Noise EMBER group meeting

Upon returning to Washington state, we ministered to our Joyful Noise EMBER group on Friday evening (renamed from Huddle Up to reflect our ministry). The word that the Lord gave us was regarding faith in these last days with the central scripture Hebrews 11:1-3.  We were reminded that our faith especially during these last days will reap some type of fruit. We desire the approval of God through obedience and faith. Our final verse was from the minor prophets: "Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy, break up your fallow ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, till He come and rain righteousness upon you". Hosea 10:12 (KJV)

--> Answering the call to help sick worship leader

Before we ministered in our final 2024 EMBER meeting Friday, we received a communication from another ministry that there was a need to fill in for a sick worship leader. We all enjoyed worshiping the King of kings together. The Lord's glory fell and His presence remained during the service.  Hallelujah. Be ready in season and out of season. We are in our season to serve as worship leaders wherever and whenever we are called.

In December, 2024 -

--> Led worship at Union Gospel Mission Men's shelter.

The Lord moved on these men, ministering as we all praised and worshiped God, thanking Him for His goodness in rescuing us. We will go back as the the Lord directs.

-->Second Annual Operation Brining Christmas Joy

We also conducted our second annual Operation Bringing Christmas Joy at Radcliffe Place senior apartments and then at Arbor Village.  The volunteers always enjoy bringing the traditional hymns in a heartfelt way. The residents at both places enjoyed the time of nostalgia and joy of the season.

See our Photo Gallery for review of sharing the joy, the new Redemption: Sounds of Joy page, and new Services page.

September 27, 2024

As is our custom, we began with heartfelt worship to touch the heart of God before going into our Bible study. The specific study topic focused on walking in the submission to the perfect will of God. It challenges God's people especially in the light of difficulties and God's sovereignty. In our discussion of a few of the many miracles of Jesus, specifically the woman of the issue of blood from Luke 8:43-48 and the leper from Luke 5:12-13, we learn of the role of our submission and surrender to God's perfect will for healing. On the other hand, we look at Paul with the thorn in the flesh that God sovereignly did not take from him after Paul prayed three times for its removal (2 Corinthians 12:7-10).

The resulting lesson in all of this that Joyful Noise Makers took was our need to be surrendered to Him in every area of our lives.

August 23, 2024

We covered zealous worship today and matching the zeal of the Lord with our zealous worship. Worship allows for us to be surrounded by "the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit" according to 2 Corinthians 13:14. Our focus and overall agenda must be pure for Jesus had no other agenda except to reconcile us to the Father through Him. Other verses which help define zealous worship are found in Titus 2:14, Romans 10:2,  and Romans 12:11-12.

We finished our gospel study in Matthew 21:12-13 where we see the zeal of Jesus as He overturns the money changer's tables in the Gentile court of the Temple. God has always wanted to be in relationship with us from Genesis 12 through Revelation. This action by Jesus showed His clear disdain for using an area that was meant worship of the Lord by the gentiles. The zeal of His action showed His great love for us. Let us allow for that great love to spur us to run to the throne and worship Him even more.

Percussion was the primary music instruction focus today. Cajons added depth to the worship.

Next meeting September 13.

August 9, 2024

We began again with corporate worship and poured out our praises before our King before starting the Bible study on the Importance of Worship: Identity and Unity as a Weapon of Warfare. The truth is that the church is fragmented and needs to come together as one expression of worship to our Lord much like the ministry Let Us Worship does at this time. When God's bride is praising Him in unity, we are unstoppable and are able to see more souls saved for the kingdom. Remember Acts 16:25-35, the story of Paul and Silas. Then we travelled to Ephesus where Ephesians 3:14-19 reminded us that God is our Father, the Father of every family on earth with gifts of sonship bestowed on us. Ephesians 4:16 also states that each part of the body of Christ is necessary because their role helps the entire body to grow and be healthy in love.

Musicians learned more skills on piano and the expanding percussion section. New instrument brought in: cajon bongo.

Next meeting August 23rd.

July 19, 2024

Tonight after worship, we learned about intimate worship and the ushering in of the Holy Spirit by glorifying the Father (as Jesus stated in John 17:3,4) through lifting up Jesus, the Name above all names. We then read about the minor prophet, Zephaniah, who spoke to God's people regarding their idolatry, the upcoming judgment against them, and the mercy of God that would be extended to His people in Zephaniah 3:9-13. We discussed the need to keep ourselves from idols of any kind, individually and corporately in the church. Our worship and relationship with our Lord must be kept pure and focused only on Him.

Joyful Noise Makers enjoyed percussion exercises with congas tonight.

Next meeting on August 9th.

July 12, 2024

After soaking in His presence during worship, we considered the elements of authentic worship requiring our genuine sacrifice of first fruits with hearts full of hope, faith, and trust. Then we considered the relationship between Habakkuk and the Lord as the prophet wrestles with the sin of God's people and what seems to be a delay in correction by God. God enters into the conversation by providing instruction to his prophet in Habakkuk 2:2-4 leading in to chapter 3 where Habakkuk acknowledges God's sovereignty to restore His people Judah to Him.

Both piano and percussion players learned additional foundational skills.

Next meeting on July 19, 2024.

June 28, 2024

Our Joyful Noise Huddle Up is continuing to gain traction. Awesome corporate worship followed up by the Word. We examined the importance of putting everything that we have into our expression of worship, both musical and non-musical service. Then we considered the heart lessons from Hosea in stopping the cycle of sin through repentance and staying fresh with the Lord in thankfulness, holy awe, and reverence as reinforced by the reading of Hosea 11:10 and Hosea 14:9.

Percussion practice tonight.

Next meeting on July 12th.

June 14, 2024

March 29, 2024

Joyful Noise Ministry worshippers completed a 40-day fast on Good Friday. I, personally, experienced an attack in my physical body on day one that threatened my focus. There were many breakthroughs experienced, including:

- alignment with God's will and call, individually and corporately

- physical healing and breakthrough

- relationship reconciliations and breakthrough

- more consistent and deeper intercessory prayer life

- faith stretched in many areas of my walk

- increase hunger for the Word of God, knowledge and understanding

- stronger and higher commitment to him

Desperately pursuing God in this season of instruction and preparation has been critical for all of us. We pray that you were blessed and also experienced a deeper walk with Him.

February 27, 2024

Joyful Noise Ministry worshippers joined in spirit and song to bless a local retirement center with music to honor Black History Month. The event drew 15-20 of the residents who joined in singing songs with us for over one hour. Facts about Black History were intermingled with other dialogue and more singing. One of the worshippers, co-Founder Scott Townley, brought his trombone drawing extra smiles from everyone in the room. Additional piano and vocals provided by one of our local ministry partners, Judy, added a special gospel and honky-tonk flair. We are grateful for all worshippers who were there. We can't wait for the next event.

Christmas 2023

Joyful Noise Ministry began in December 2023 bringing joyful sounds of Christmas carols to two retirement centers in the area. Worshippers from various churches and spanning all age groups from children through seniors were in attendance. It was a wonderful and joy-filled time. The objective of shining the light of Jesus during this season was accomplished. We will be planning these events more in advance and placing all dates on the website. Contact us to get on the email list.
